Before joining a Top Rummy table, open its detail or rules screen and confirm the format (Points, Pool 101/201, or Deals), the number of players, what an entry or point value means, and the drop and wrong-declaration penalties.

A Top Rummy table list puts one number front and centre, usually an entry amount or point value. The details that decide how the game plays, and what it can cost you, are usually one tap away on the table’s detail or rules screen. Read that screen before you sit down.

Five things a table’s rules should state

  1. The format. Points Rummy (one deal), Pool Rummy (eliminated past 101 or 201 points), or Deals Rummy (a fixed number of deals). They score differently. See Points, Pool and Deals rummy explained.
  2. Players. How many seats there are, usually two or six, and whether the game starts before the table is full.
  3. What the number means. In Points Rummy it is usually a value per point, so a 40-point loss at ₹1 a point costs ₹40. In Pool and Deals it is usually a fixed entry. The same figure can mean very different amounts.
  4. Penalties. Standard values are 20 points for dropping before your first draw, 40 for dropping later, and 80 for a wrong declaration or the maximum loss. In 201 Pool, drops are often 25 and 50. Check the table, because apps can change these.
  5. Disconnection rules. What happens if your connection drops mid-game. Some apps treat it as a drop, and some auto-play your hand.

The basic hand rules

Top Rummy uses standard 13-card Indian rummy unless a table says otherwise. You need at least two sequences, one of them pure (no joker), and every card must be in a sequence or a set to declare. Cards count face value, J, Q, K, and A count 10, and jokers count 0. If the table’s rules differ from this anywhere, the table’s rules apply.

What the Top Rummy APK shows

The APK on our Top Rummy page is package com.tops.slots.games. The name says “slots” although the app is presented as rummy, a sign the package wasn’t created for this brand. It is version 1.1.1, about 39.9 MB, with the same nine permissions as every app in our directory. It is signed with the same certificate as Joyrummy, Rummy77, Rumble Rummy, and the rest (the signing-key findings), so the table screens will likely work the same way across these rummy brands.

Signs to stop
