A unique password, real two-factor authentication where it's offered, and never sharing an OTP will stop most account takeovers in this space — most incidents are phishing, not platform hacks.

Most account-security incidents on gaming platforms aren’t the result of the platform itself being breached — they’re the result of a phishing link, a reused password, or a shared one-time code. That means the highest-leverage protections are things you control, regardless of which platform you use.

If you suspect your account is compromised

These habits aren’t specific to any one app in this directory — they’re the same baseline that applies whether you’re evaluating a well-established platform or one you’ve never heard of before.

Protect the phone number, not just the password

Most of these apps log you in with a mobile number and an SMS OTP. That makes your SIM and your messages the real key to the account.

Close the door after installing

Android asks you to allow “Install unknown apps” for whichever app you used to download an APK, such as a browser or file manager. Once the install is done, go back to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps and switch it off again. The exact path varies by phone. Keep Google Play Protect switched on as well, since it also scans apps installed from outside the Play Store.

Know what normal looks like

The 14 gaming APKs in our directory each request nine permissions, none of which reach your SMS, contacts, storage, or screen (details). If an app ever asks for accessibility access, device admin rights, or the ability to read SMS, deny it and check whether you have the genuine file.
